What are Coiled Pins?
Coiled Pins are self-retaining engineered components designed to be active members of the assembly to which they are installed.  They absorb forces imparted to the assembly during use.  This absorption of shock and vibration improves the life of the host assembly and reduces warranty costs.  In addition, Coiled Pins simplify the design of an assembly as they replace multiple components with one pin, and decrease the cost of preparation for installation.  Best of all, Coiled Pins have features which make them relatively easy to automate so assembly and the associated labor time and cost are minimized.

The Coiled Pin is easily identified by its 2-1/4 coil cross section.  The simplicity of the design is deceptive.  To function properly as an active shock absorber, the coiled pin must be manufactured with precision and craftsmanship to ensure the proper balance between flexibility and strength.
